State designates funding for Lafranier Road

TRAVERSE CITY — Grand Traverse County's Lafranier Road should undergo a major face-lift, thanks largely to $1.1 million in state funding.

County Road Commission officials said they'll try to garner matching local funds for a major reconstruction project.

Possible changes to Lafranier Road include construction of a left turn lane from Ridge View Court to the county Health Department building, and a pedestrian path from South Airport Road to Ridge View Court, road officials said in a statement.

See Wednesday's Record-Eagle for more details.
