Cherry Fest Volunteers: Mark Ewing

It takes a community to bring the National Cherry Festival to life. Traverse City native Mark Ewing has 40 years of festival experience as a volunteer. This year his duties include working the Pepsi tent, selling food, manning cars at a parking lot, and keeping the festival spaces clean. He also works as the Senior Unit Serving Executive for the Boy Scouts and he often brought scouts along to help serve the festival community, too.

"It's important to give the youth an opportunity to serve and give back to the community," he said. "We bring a lot of kids to help serve and give them a bigger picture outside of just their family."
