Cherry Republic to consolidate food production in Empire

EMPIRE – The future is sweet for Cherry Republic.

The business is building a new food factory in Empire to consolidate its production of jam, pie, salsa and other foods into one building. Food production currently is spread over four sites, said Todd Ciolek, Cherry Republic chief operating officer.

“It’s nice to call it a food factory,” Ciolek said. “There’s not a bunch of them out of here, yet we’re in this region that has a lot of cherries, of course, and food.”

Ciolek said Cherry Republic's bakery should move into the new facility by the end of the summer and the rest of the food production should move in over the next year.
