TRAVERSE CITY — Retired diplomat and former Iranian hostage Michael Metrinko is the next speaker in the International Affairs Forum lecture series.
Metrinko served in Iran during the two-year period leading to the Iranian Revolution in 1979 and was held as a hostage for 444 days. He will speak on “Iran and the United States: Time for a Reset?” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, in Milliken Auditorium at the Dennos Museum Center, 1410 College Dr. A reception will be hosted at 5:15 p.m. in the Sculpture Court.
Anticipating widespread interest, the lecture also may be viewed live on Charter Cable channels 97 and 992 and will be streamed live. The live steam is available to anyone with an Internet-connected computer or mobile device. Instructions to access the lecture online will be available at wwww.upnorthmedia.org and www.nmc.edu/iaf.
Lecture tickets are $10 in advance through NMC’s Extended Education, 995-1700. All current educators and students are admitted free. Remaining tickets will be sold at the door.
