Empire — The Glen Lake Community Library will host a demonstration of a new genealogy database today, Jan. 22.
Ancestry Library Edition provides access to millions of digitized records and the database can be used on any of the library's public computers.

Traverse City — Karen Schmidt, president of the Board of Trustees of the Botanical Garden Society of Northwest Michigan, will be the guest speaker today, Jan. 22, at a meeting of the Newcomers Club of Grand Traverse.
