TRAVERSE CITY — Life Academy of Northwestern Michigan College will offer a course titled “The Intersection of Ecology and Theology.”
The class meets from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 2, 9, 16 and 23. It will be taught by Father Ciprian Streza. He is an ordained priest in the Greek Orthodox Christian Church and parish priest of Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church. He also has a special interest in ecology from religious perspectives.

MANISTEE— Manistee will “paint the town pink” for a fundraiser to benefit West Shore Medical Center’s breast health services.
The event on Thursday, Oct. 3, starts with a social hour from 4-5 p.m. at the west end of River Street. A ceremony recognizing survivors at 5 p.m. will be followed by the 1-mile walk. Event T-shirts may be purchased in the radiology department at West Shore Medical Center and limited quantities will be available at the walk.
