NorthSky offers nonprofits session

TRAVERSE CITY — NorthSky Nonprofit Network is sponsoring a session for nonprofit leaders, board officers and board members on Nov. 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Northwestern Michigan College University Center.

"Inspired Governance" will focus on how nonprofit governance is changing to address intensifying and complex social, legislative and economic demands. It will include how best practicing nonprofit boards are responding to and positioning for a changing environment, and how exceptional boards transform their governance and advance their leadership practices. The workshop leader is Pamela Evans, NorthSky Governance Consultant.

Bayfront webcam

TRAVERSE CITY — The public can follow progress of construction on the city's downtown bayfront via a new webcam.

The Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce has created the webcam link offering a bird's-eye view of the construction work on the city's $3 million Bayfront Plan project. The webcam looks down from the third floor of the chamber's office across from the construction zone along Grandview Parkway. Images from the webcam are updated every 15 seconds.

The webcam can be viewed by visiting www.tcchamber.org and clicking on the "Bayfront Cam" tag at the top of the home page.

Business After Hours

HARBOR SPRINGS — Petoskey and Harbor Springs area business are invited to a combined Petoskey/Harbor Springs Chamber Business After Hours Nov.14 from 5 to 7 p.m., at Northern Lights Recreation.

The theme of the event is sports and all attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite sports team jersey/shirt or hat. A food drive for Manna is also part of the event. Donations of dessert or baking mixes, sugar, flower and other baking essentials are requested.

Cost of attendance is $7 for members or $12 for others. Reservations are not required. For more details, call 347-4150.
