Arraignment set for woman who crashed into sewage pump

Arraignment set in sewage pump crash

TRAVERSE CITY — A Traverse City woman authorities accused of drunkenly crashingher Ford Explorer through a sewage lift station will appear in court on Oct. 31.

The woman, Emily Marie Cooper, 23, was allegedly driving south on Woodmere Avenue on Oct. 21 when she struck and plowed through the cinder block wall of the lift station.

Cooper’s blood-alcohol was .28 percent, records show. She was charged with failure to report an accident to fixtures and operating with a high blood-alcohol content. Cooper faces 180 days in jail.
