Listen to constituents
It’s time to name names: Kasson Township Board Supervisor Fred Lanham, Planning Commission Chairman Tad Carter and Zoning Administrator Mike Lanham. These are the people who will be responsible for making the decision regarding the proposed “Eco/Airwalk” in Kasson Township.
Residents have made it abundantly clear through countless letters to editor, Facebook page and “Friends and Neighbors of Kasson Township,” that we vehemently oppose the “Eco/Airwalk.” I encourage our elected/appointed officials to re-read the Township Master Plan and the Township Zoning Ordinance.
1) “The beauty and quality of Kasson Township springs from … its natural resources.”
2) “The success of The Plan shall be measured by its ability to retain the good character and qualities of the community.”
3) “ … to avoid the overcrowding of land by buildings or people and lessen congestion on public roads.”
When this proposal comes to the Planning Commission we residents expect our township officials to abide by the Master Plan, Zoning Ordinance and by the spirit in which they were written.
I hope all affected residents will contact these officials, encourage them to listen to their constituents, adhere to The Plan and not let developer Mark Evans sell them a “bill of goods.”
