Man sentenced for entering home, resisting deputy

---- — TRAVERSE CITY — A Traverse City man was sentenced to jail for forcing his way into a man's home and resisting arrest.

James Patrick Carolan, 26, was sentenced to nine months in jail for resisting a police officer and three months for illegal entry without the owner's permission. He pleaded guilty. A charge of third-degree home invasion was dismissed.

Grand Traverse sheriff's deputies said Carolan went to a home in the 100 block of Holcomb Court in March. The homeowner told authorities he asked Carolan to leave bit Carolan twice forced himself inside, according to court documents.
