Antique auto buffs

TRAVERSE CITY — The Northwestern Michigan Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Elks Lodge, 625 Bay St. New members are welcome. For details, call 947-2599 or 587-5663.

Insurance signup

TRAVERSE CITY — The Grand Traverse County Democratic Party and Planned Parenthood Affiliates of Michigan will sponsor a free health insurance sign-up event.

The event will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, in the meeting room at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center, 1213 W. Civic Center Dr. Trained Navigators will be available by appointment to help participants sign up for health insurance at www.healthcare.gov or by paper application. Those who successfully sign up will have health insurance starting April 1. Walk-ins are welcome on a first come, first served basis. The one-on-one sessions will follow a “Do-It-Yourself” sign-up presentation explaining the healthcare.gov website.

To reserve a time with a trained Navigator and learn what paperwork is needed to sign up, email healthcaresignupTC@gmail.com. Some ride shares may be available and this need should be mentioned in the email.

WorldQuest debuts

TRAVERSE CITY — Teams from six area high schools will assemble at Northwestern Michigan College for the region’s first Academic WorldQuest competition.

The competition takes place from 2-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, in Milliken Auditorium at the Dennos Museum Center, 1410 College Dr. Teams will be tested on their knowledge of specific world affairs issues determined by the World Affairs Councils of America in a quiz bowl-style competition.

Admission is free and the public is invited. The local winner will compete at the national Academic WorldQuest competition on April 26 in Washington, D.C.
