Grow Benzie benefit

BENZONIA — “An Evening with the Stars” on Wednesday, Oct. 2, will benefit the historic Grow Benzie Farmstead.

The evening includes valet parking, wine tastings from Douglas Valley Winery, dueling flutists, appetizers and more starting at 7 p.m. in the Grow Benzie greenhouses, 5885 M-115. A $50 donation per person is suggested and reservations are required. For details or to reserve space, call 882-2313.

Father Fred food drive

TRAVERSE CITY — The Father Fred Foundation’s Fall Food Drive starts Saturday, and continues through Sept. 28.

Donations may be dropped off at Tom’s Food Market locations on East Bay, West Bay, 14th Street, and in Interlochen; Oleson’s locations on North Long Lake and Hammond roads; Family Fare on East Eighth Street and at Chum’s Corner; and Maxbauer’s Union Street store.

All donations of cash or food will be doubled dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000 in the Oleson Foundation’s Value Match Challenge. For details, visit
