TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Commission’s committee on park use will revisit the fee schedule for festivals and determine if the city should pursue a stricter noise ordinance for the upcoming season.
The committee meets today at 6 p.m. in the second floor training room at the Governmental Center.
Time constraints will force the three city commissioners who comprise the committee to decide if they want to send a police officer for training on a proposed stricter noise ordinance they have not yet reviewed. Training is not necessary if commissioners decide against the ordinance, but the new ordinance is unenforceable without the training.
Committee members also will discuss hiring an event planner to review applications, charging for parking lots, and basing fees on how much of the Open Space festival organizers use.
