TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City Light & Power welcomed a new board member and re-elected its chairman and vice chairman to one-year terms at the city-owned electric company.
Patrick McGuire joined the board in 2011. The controller for a local energy company will serve his second year as chairman. John Taylor, appointed to the board in 2010, will continue as vice chairman. Taylor is a senior manager for a consortium of energy organizations where he serves as liaison to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy.
Jeff Palisan, a former banker who now runs a small manufacturing company, is the newest member appointed to the board by the city commission. He replaces Mike Coco.
McGuire said he looks forward to working with the board and staff to tackle important issues for the utility over the next year. Those tasks include selection of a new executive director and development of a strategic plan with community input to determine the utility’s future.
