GOLF UPDATE: TC West, Suttons Bay, Petoskey win regionals

Traverse City West shot a team score of 302 Thursday, good enough to win a Division 1 regional golf championship in Lake Orion, and advance the team to the state finals.

Traverse City Central's Winton Munch shot a 70 to qualify for the state finals as an individual.

In Division 4, Suttons Bay finished in first place at a regional tournament at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa's Spruce Run course. Leland's Joel Sneed also was a medalist, qualifying for the finals as an individual.

And in a Division 2 regional at Linden, the Big North Conference swept the top three spots as Petoskey, Ogemaw Heights and Gaylord all qualified for state.
