TC West, Leland, Cadillac win regional crowns (with video)

— Tonight is a great night to be a northwest Michigan volleyball fan.

Traverse City West, Leland and Cadillac swept through their regional championship matches and will move on to the state quarterfinals Tuesday.

TC West traveled to Mount Pleasant and defeated Flushing 3-0 in Class A action. The Titans next play No. 6 Northville in Fenton.

In Class D, No. 6 Leland won 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-22) over Bellaire. Noa Yaakoby had 15 kills for the Comets, while Madison Trumbull added 10 kills. Leland's quarterfinal will take place in Evart against No. 4 Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart. In Class B, No. 7 Cadillac beat Grant, 3-0. The team will play Saginaw Swan Valley in Mount Pleasant for a berth in the state semifinals.

Traverse City St. Francis played for a regional crown tonight in McBain, but the Gladiators came up short against No. 3 Beal City, losing 1-3.
