Cherry Festival Schedule: 7/10/2014

8:30 a.m. Cherry Golf Scramble: A two-person, 18-hole scramble on Spruce Run, the original Resort course. Prizes awarded. Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, 100 Grand Traverse Village Boulevard, Acme.

9 a.m. Kids’ Fun and Games: Children ages 5 to 12 years old. F&M Park at Railroad Ave and Washington Street.

9 a.m. Teen Volleyball Tournament: Teams are limited to six members. Two divisions, ages 12-15 and 16-19. Players under 18 will need a parent signature. Traverse City West End Park Beach Volleyball Courts.

9 a.m. Traverse City History in the Movies. Admission is free, seating is limited. Bijou by the Bay 181 E Grandview Parkway.

10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Inland Seas Schoolship Dock Tours: Enjoy free dock tours of the Inland Seas at the Festival Open Space Park Central.

10 a.m. A Walk Through the National Cherry Festival Exhibit. Corner Loft, 201 E. Front Street.

10 a.m. DTE Energy Program. Festival Open Space Park Food Court area at Grandview Parkway and Union Street.

10 a.m. Kids Club: Free activities for children ages 2-12. Behind the Bijou Theater.

10 a.m. Cherry Connection--Bringing Together Festival, Farm, and Fruit: Visit a productive orchard in Leelanau County at the Northwest Michigan Horticultural Research Station. Shuttle will pick up on the west side of the Traverse City Visitor’s Center on Garland Street starting at 9:30 and leaves every half hour until noon.

10:30 a.m. Cherry Classic Film Series: Move Over, Darling. State Theatre, 233 E. Front Street

10 a.m. Kids Make and Bake: Kids 12 and under, learn about cherries, Michigan agriculture, and make your own cherry pie. Clinch Park, 161 E. Grandview Pkwy.

10 a.m. Million Dollar Hole-In-One Golf Contest. Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, 4935 M-72, E. Williamsburg

10 a.m. Ultimate Air Dogs: Nearly a hundred “dog athletes” and their proud owner-trainers competing for advancement in the regional competition. Traverse City West End Beach Volleyball Courts on Grandview Parkway.
