Autumn fest

FRANKFORT — The Fall Festival Parade featuring the Scottville Clown Band and the Mutt March kicks off the celebration of autumn on Oct. 12 in Frankfort.

Parade line-up starts at the beach turnaround and applications are available at the Frankfort-Elberta Chamber of Commerce or at www.frankfort-elberta.com. Entries also may just show up. Following the parade a variety of activities will be held at Open Space Park.

Marilla harvest

COPEMISH — The Marilla Historical Society will host a family event to celebrate the harvest season.

The event will be held from 3-7 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Marilla Museum & Pioneer Place, 9991 Marilla Road. There will be hands-on activities for all ages, demonstrations, music by the Baas Sisters, a soup meal and building tours.

TC holds CROP Walk

TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City CROP Walk will be held on Oct. 13.

Registration starts at 1:45 p.m. at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center. The walk starts at 2 p.m. from the Civic Center, continues down Washington Street, to Union Street and back to the Civic Center along State Street. It will be held rain or shine.

Walkers are encouraged to secure pledges for world and local hunger relief. For details and registration, contact Ann Hackett, 947-2330, at Grace Episcopal Church, 341 Washington St.
