Scandinavian Lunch

FRANKFORT — Trinity Lutheran Church, 955 James St., will host its Scandinavian Luncheon and Bazaar Nov. 23.

The event will be held from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The meal features Norwegian meatballs, Swedish potato sausage, green beans almondine, apple salad, Scandinavian bread and a choice of a Scandinavian dessert cookie. Bazaar items include Rosemall items, cribbage boards, other handmade items and used books. Proceeds benefit local, state and national charities. Call 352-4531 for details.

Thanksgiving dinner

GAYLORD — Continuing a more than 40-year tradition, a community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Nov. 28.

The non-denominational celebration starts with fellowship and appetizers at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral Parish Hall, 606 N. Ohio St., with dinner served at 3 p.m. There is no cost.

Turkey Trot

CHARLEVOIX — Charlevoix Area Hospital will sponsor a Turkey Trot run/walk on Thanksgiving.

Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at the hospital, 14700 Lake Shore Dr. The event starts at 8:30 a.m. The entry fee is $12 per person or $30 per family if registered by noon Wednesday, Nov. 27. Fees on race day are $15 per person; $35 per family. Toddlers in strollers and leashed, friendly pets are free.

Advent Tea

TRAVERSE CITY — The reservation deadline is Nov. 24, for a Christian Advent Tea being hosted by the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Registration takes place following the 5 p.m. service on Saturday, Nov. 16 and 23, and the 8 and 10:30 a.m. services on Sunday, Nov. 17 and 24, at the church, 1050 Peninsula Dr., where the tea will be hosted from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. There will be a light lunch, a brief Christian Christmas sing-along and a program by the Traverse City Choral-Aires.
