Circus auditions

TRAVERSE CITY — Grand Traverse area students in grades one through 12 are invited to audition for the traveling Starfish Circus, an outreach program founded by the international performance group Ariel Angels.

Pre-auditions are from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. today, April 4, for students to ask questions, try things and learn new skills. Auditions will be held 3:30-6 p.m. Friday, April 5, at the West Senior High School auditorium, 5376 N. Long Lake Road. Participants should come dressed to be active and bring props for special skills.

Library shows film

ALDEN — “The Seven Samurai” is the next film in the “Off the Wall Movie Series” at the Alden District Library, 8751 Helena Road.

The 1954 movie will be shown at 7 p.m. today, April 4, with dinner at 6 p.m. An optional donation or food for the meal is suggested. For details or to sign up, call the library, 331-4318.

All H.A.N.D.D.S.

TRAVERSE CITY — Glen Eagle Retirement Community will host a fundraiser and also a pet adoption for Helping Abused, Neglected, Disabled, Displaced Souls (H.A.N.D.D.S.).

On Saturday, April 6, a benefit bake sale will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from noon to 1:30 p.m. A Pet Adopt-A-Thon will be held with H.A.N.D.D.S. from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 7. All events take place at Glen Eagle, 3950 Sumac Dr. For details, call 935-4553.

Senior luncheon

INTERLOCHEN — Redeemer Lutheran Church will hold a senior luncheon on Monday, April 8. Reservations are needed by noon Friday, April 5.

Lunch will be served at noon at the church at U.S. 31 and Rogers Road. Fellowship and games will follow. The meal is $3 per person. Sack lunches also are welcome. Activities are free. For details or reservations, call Ralph Hintsala, 620-0840.
