Reasons to be happy
I have three good reasons to be happy about the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).
The first is my son, who is an organic farmer in the state of Washington. He has a wife and two girls. He had several bone ailments as a child. He is fine now. He also could not afford good health care. Now he and his family have good, affordable insurance.
The second is a nephew who was in a head-on collision almost 30 years ago. It was not his fault. He also has some other conditions that he could not control. He now has good insurance.
The third is my granddaughter. She was able to stay on her parents’ insurance until she turned 26 this year. She is healthy, is working, but did not have insurance. She planned to buy insurance but was turned down because she at one time took a medication and she told the truth about it. Now she, too, has good health insurance.
Thank you President Obama and other Democrats for sticking with the ACA. If there are problems it should be the job of all representatives to work to fix it — not destroy it.
