TRAVERSE CITY -- "Cherryland," a documentary that traces the National Cherry Festival using archive footage, will be shown daily for free at the State Theatre in downtown Traverse City beginning Friday.
The National Cherry Festival and the Traverse City Film Festival partnered to offer free movies every day during the Cherry Festival. Besides the daily, 4 p.m. showing of "Cherryland," other free movies include:
-- Saturday at 10:30 a.m., classic cartoons with games for kids;
-- July 7 at 11 a.m., "Road to Rio," one of many Bing Crosby-Bob Hope "Road" movies playing this week;
-- July 8 at 11 a.m., "Road to Bali;"
-- July 9 at 11 a.m., "Road to Zanzibar;"
-- July 10 at 11 a.m., "Road to Utopia;"
-- July 10, 9:30 p.m., "Transformers," free for teens; and
-- July 11 at 11 a.m., "Road to Morocco."
