People

n The National American Indian Court Judges Association presented Traverse City attorney Michael Petoskey with a Lifetime Achievement award. Petoskey is a Grand Traverse Band member and started his judicial career there with the planning, implementation and development of the courts from a collective community dream.

n Linda M. Fisher, owner of Cardinal Insurance Group, formerly Fisher Agency, Inc., in Acme recently celebrated her 25-year anniversary in the insurance agency.

n Joseph Bagby, of Traverse City, received a Star Award from the Michigan Department of Human Services for his work as a Michigan Youth Opportunities Initiative program coordinator for Grand Traverse/Kalkaska/Leelanau counties.

n Christine Crissman has been named the new executive director of the Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay. She most recently served as director of education and conservation at the Grand Traverse Conservation District.

Recognition

n Kitchen Choreography was nominated this year for an award by The History Center Awards Committee of Traverse City for recent improvements to the structure formerly known as the Steward’s Residence at 420 South Division St. in Traverse City. Keeping with the historical and architectural character of the Traverse City area, Kitchen Choreography turned the vacant home into their new design studio in 2012.

Relocation

n Comfort Keepers, an in-home senior care provider, recently moved their office to 1107 E. Eighth Street at Garfield Avenue.
