---- — TRAVERSE CITY — The former Traverse City State Hospital stood in severe disrepair in 1999.
Water seeped through roofs, broken windows were an eyesore, and the grounds were overgrown. Public officials debated the old state hospital’s future and considered demolition, but a challenge proffered to developer Ray Minervini changed everything.
Today, about 13 years later, the old hospital is full of life. The Village at Grand Traverse Commons is a thriving community hub of commercial, residential and economic activity.
Now the question is: what’s next for the Village at Grand Traverse Commons?
