KALKASKA — Ralph James Iott, 78, of Kalkaska, died Feb. 1, 2013. He will be remembered for his love of his family, his farm and his friends.
Surviving Ralph are his children, Dennis (Dawn), of Kalkaska, Karen Fischer (Randy), of Ottawa Lake, Melanie Vergote (Charley), of Kalkaska, Cathie Rourke (Paul), of Bloomfield Hills, Gina Gallihugh (Ron), of Sterling, Va., Sheri (Gordon Sly), of Grand Rapids, Greg (Bonnie), of Kalkaska, and Chris (Amanda), of Jackson. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his siblings, Joyce VanLoocke (Frank), Jim (Mary), John and Carolyn Strahan (Jim); dear friend, Joan Greenblatt; and faithful companion, Lodi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Clara; and his former wife, Beverly.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home, Kalkaska. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Kalkaska. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10 a.m. A private burial will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Farmers Feeding the World, which fights global hunger and educates the public about U.S. agriculture's role in fighting hunger; or Cristo Rey High School, a Catholic college prep high school in Detroit for economically disadvantaged students.
