Marine Corps League Yagle Brothers Detachment 165 of Traverse City has a new slate of officers for 2013.
Officers are Paul Waterstradt, commandant; Bill "Doc" Tetzlaff, senior vice commandant; Ed Dietz, junior vice commandant; David Kopera, adjutant; David Bieganowski, paymaster; Miles Gerberding, judge advocate; Gene Dixon, chaplain; Bernie Kuerth, sergeant at arms; and Ed Lee, past commandant.
The detachment meets at 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month at its Camp Buday, 20833 Honor Highway, Interlochen. Membership is open to all Marines and FMF Corpsmen who have been honorably discharged.

Mary Carroll of the Benzie County Visitors Bureau has been elected president of the Michigan Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus, while Paul Beachnau from the Gaylord Area Convention & Tourism Bureau will serve as treasurer.
The MACVB is comprised of 46 member convention and visitors bureaus in Michigan. It's mission is to served as the advocate for its members through education and communication, while representing their legislative interests in the tourism industry.
Art Rapids!, the Elk Rapids arts organization, has received a $4,000 Michigan State arts grant to help defray start-up costs for the "Walk of Art" sculpture exhibition in Elk Rapids Day Park on South Bayshore Drive.
The grant will support the first phase of a three-year plan for Walk of Art, including design and production of signs and marketing materials, and installation and landscaping of six sculptures in time for a June 2013 opening.
