n Catherine McKinley joined the Century 21 Northland Group in downtown Traverse City. McKinley’s work history includes progressive management experience together with office management, residential and commercial real estate sales, mortgage banking, multi-unit property management, relocation and facilities and operations management in the lifestyle shopping mall industry.

n Dennis, Gartland and Niergarth of Traverse City promoted five associates to new management positions, including two as new firm partners:

Shelly A. Ashmore, CPA, MST, has been promoted from senior tax manager to partner. Ashmore joined DGN in 1994 and has more than 20 years experience in public accounting. She has significant experience in the oil and gas industry and specializes in partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, business succession and estate planning.

James M. Taylor, CPA, CFP, has been promoted from tax manager to partner. Taylor joined Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth in 2006 and specializes in planning and tax services for business and individuals with additional expertise in manufacturing.

Kelly LaLonde, CPA, MBA, has been promoted from supervisor to manager. LaLonde joined Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth in 2003 and provides expertise in DGN’s “BizTek” department and on DGN’s QuickBooks team to businesses, nonprofit organizations and consulting clients.

Krin T. Clary, CPA, MSA, has been promoted from audit senior to supervisor. Clary joined DGN in 2007 and was promoted to audit senior in 2010 prior to her current position. A member of the audit department and government/nonprofit team, she brings experience auditing a range of governmental, nonprofit and for profit organizations.

Laura Reinhold, CPA, has been promoted from senior accountant to supervisor. Reinhold joined DGN in 2005 and works with individuals and businesses with an emphasis on tax planning and IRS representation.

n Grand Traverse Resort and Spa has named Ryan Buck to the position of director of sales. Buck is responsible for overseeing all facets of the nearly 600-room resort’s group sales team including revenue management, travel, trade show, and budgeting. Buck has nearly 14 years of experience in the hospitality and meetings industry and comes to Grand Traverse Resort and Spa from the W Hotels of Chicago, where he was the complex director of group sales since 2011. Before that, he was director of sales and events at the Renaissance Blackstone Hotel, Chicago, and associate director of sales at the Swissotel Chicago.
