Burns and other poets
NORTHPORT — The Friends of the Leelanau Township Library will host its third annual “Burns and Other Poets Night.”
The event will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Leelanau Township Library, 119 N. Nagonaba, and includes a soup supper. All are welcome to read and share published and unpublished poetry. Attendees are asked to bring their own mug and spoon for soup.

Talk about Art
GLEN ARBOR — Leelanau County photographer Ken Scott will open the sixth “Talk About Art” series.
Scott has been a photographer for more than 20 years and his work can been seen weekly in The Leelanau Enterprise. He also has published five collections of images depicting Leelanau County and other northern Michigan locations.
Scott will discuss his work at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Glen Arbor Art Association, 3061 S. Lake St. The program is free and open to the public. For details, call 334-6112 or visit www.glenarborart.org.
Women’s Winter Tour
SUTTONS BAY — The Women’s Winter Tour, a celebration of chocolate and wine, turns 16 this year.
The “Sweet Sixteen” celebration starts Saturday, Feb. 1, with a “sweet” shopping day for women hosted by stores in downtown Traverse City and at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons and an evening Sweet Sixteen Dance Party at Little Bohemia with music by the Fresh Fossils.
The main celebration will be held Sunday, Feb. 2, at Black Star Farms with non-competitive cross country skiing or snowshoeing and a progressive tasting party between three venues each showcasing a unique food and drink experience. Women are encouraged to carpool and a shuttle will be provided between the Holiday Inn and Black Star Farms, where the event begins and ends.
