Workplace facelift

TRAVERSE CITY — Interphase Interiors, the local Haworth dealer, has announced the five nonprofit finalists for its $25,000 workplace facelift contest. The finalists are Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Michigan, The Father Fred Foundation, Mt. Holiday Ski & Recreation Area, My Sister’s House and Women’s Resource Center of the Grand Traverse Area

Starting Thursday, Aug. 1, the public will have the opportunity to vote online for their favorite finalist, chosen based on the organizations’ mission and influence on the community, demonstration of excellence in leadership and the need for an upgraded workspace.

The community can visit www.interphaseinc.com to vote. The winner, to be announced in September, will be selected based on input from a combination of the online voting (40 percent) and an assessment by a panel of judges comprised of local business people (60 percent).

Logic training

TRAVERSE CITY — Rotary Charities will offer an encore presentation of its NorthSky logic model training from 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Aug. 1 at Northwestern Michigan College, University Center, Room 207.

All Rotary Charities’ Program and Organizational Capacity Building grant applicants are required to submit a logic model as part of their application. This interactive work session will introduce the logic model and walk participants through the process of refining it. Any organization planning to apply for a Rotary program or capacity building grant should attend.

CEO event

TRAVERSE CITY — Vistage Michigan, part of the world’s leading chief executive organization, is hosting a special event for prospective members on Thursday, Aug. 1 at the Cambria Suites located at 255 Munson Avenue.

Designed for chief executives who lead companies in northern Michigan, the program takes place from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend, but attendance is limited to chief executives, presidents and business owners. A complimentary lunch will be provided.
