TRAVERSE CITY — The MidMichigan Innovation Center will host Best Shot: Reaching Your Target Market workshops from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the InsideOut Gallery. Registered participants will receive instruction from industry experts and attend a panel discussion during a provided lunch.
The sales crash course is designed for entrepreneurs, small business owners and innovators. A presentation on identifying the market and distribution channel precedes a panel lunch and an interactive sales-pitch building activity. Participants will be provided with a companion workbook and an opportunity for one-on-one pitch coaching with a panelist or the presenter.

TRAVERSE CITY — NorthSky Nonprofit Network is partnering with the United Way of Northwestern Michigan to host a professional development session,”Successfully Engaging Volunteers in Community Projects,” from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Northwestern Michigan College University Center campus.
The session will be led by Susan McQuaid, United Way Volunteer Center director. Participants will learn how to effectively recruit and deploy volunteers for community projects. The session is designed for beginning to intermediate managers, volunteers and staff.

TRAVERSE CITY — NorthSky Nonprofit Network will sponsor a session for nonprofit leaders, board officers, board members and individuals considering board service from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the Northwestern Michigan College University Center.
The Board Primer will focus on the fiduciary roles and responsibilities of nonprofit boards, the requirements for serving on a board, how to be a best-practicing board and tips for ensuring a board is functioning well and fulfilling its duties. The workshop leader is Pamela Evans, NorthSky governance consultant.
