TRAVERSE CITY —

Minigrants available

Arts & cultural groups throughout northwestern Lower Michigan can apply for up to $1,500 in funding through the Michigan Council for the Arts & Cultural Affairs Re-granting Program for professional and organizational development projects between March 1 and Sept. 30, 2013.

These new grants are designed to complement MCACA's traditional project mini-grants funding arts and cultural programming. The MCACA re-grant program for Traverse City and Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee and Wexford counties is being administered locally through NorthSky Nonprofit Network.

The new grants are designed to support organizational development, sustainability and capacity building to aid in extending arts and culture in local communities.

Organizations may apply for up to $1,500, which cannot exceed 75 percent of the total cost. Minigrant funding guidelines, e-grant application links and general information are available at www.northskynonprofitnetwork.org. Deadline for submission is Feb. 1.

Acrylics workshop

Traverse City — The registration deadline is Wednesday, Jan. 9, for an acrylics workshop with Rod Lawrence.

'Jazz in January'

Petoskey — Crooked Tree Arts Center's "Jazz in January" concert will feature the jazz quartet Mind's Eye with award-winning jazz vocalist Edye Evans-Hyde.
