TRAVERSE CITY — Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL) will host a book release party today, Sept. 29, for the latest edition of Sam Daley-Harris’ book “Reclaiming Our Democracy: Healing the Break Between People and Government.”
The event will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the Michigan Land Use Institute, 148 E. Front St., suite 301. Daley-Harris will attend via conference call. Attendees will receive a copy of the book with a $25 donation, however donations are not required. For details, email email@example.com.

• Jerry Darkes, author of “Fly Fishing the Inland Oceans: An Angler’s Guide to Finding and Catching Fish in the Great Lakes,” 4-6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 2.
• Dr. Carol Kennedy, author of “ A Taste of Chocolate for the Soul,” 1-3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 5.
• Susan Nenadic, author of “ A Purse of Her Own,” 3-5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 5.
• Michael French Smith, author of “ A Faraway, Familiar Place,” 5-7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 5.
Off the Page series
BEULAH — The Beulah and Benzonia Libraries will host three contributors to the Michigan Notable Book collection of short stories, “Ghost Writers: Us Haunting Them” as part of its Off the Page series. Co-editor, Keith Taylor, and two contributing authors, Anne-Marie Oomen and Elizabeth Schmuhl will present their stories on ghosts at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 4, at the library, 7238 Commercial St., Beulah.
