Tent must be opened

Republicans got well spanked in the General Election and now they are trying to re-evaluate and find reasons why they were so resoundingly defeated. There are so many.
But foremost is the realization that the tent must be opened wide to allow in the burgeoning minority populations. Well, that won’t really happen, but the GOP understands that a lot of lies and false promises must be made in order to compete at the polling place in the future.
Policies won’t change, the prejudices won’t change.
I don’t believe Republicans want to be arm-in-arm with actual black people and brown people...they just want their votes.

Voices must be heard

Triple header. Suttons Bay Schools had three teams competing in weekend events. Our Odyssey of the Mind team and our middle and high school bands all achieved top ratings qualifying them to compete at the state level. Our Suttons Bay Norseman Robotics team received the “Engineering Excellence” award and came in seventh out of 38 teams. They will continue their competition downstate in two weeks.
We are so very fortunate to have excellent schools in northern Michigan. Parents, please take a moment and let our state lawmakers know that we demand their financial support of our public schools. Our voices need to be heard now.
