Book launch

TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse Area District Library main branch will host local authors Peg Jonkhoff and Fred Hoisington, as they launch their new book at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 15.

“Perry Hannah’s Gifts - Then & Now” is a series of short stories about Traverse City’s founding father and the many gifts of land and buildings he left to the city more than 110 years ago.

Using text and both historic and modern photos, the book follows a then and now format to illuminate where Hannah’s fingerprints remain for everyone to discover and cherish.

The book launch event will feature a short program highlighting the legacy of Perry Hannah and his wife Ann, respectively played in full historic costume by Hoisington and Jonkhoff.

The book will be available for purchase at the library event and both authors will be available to sign copies. Proceeds will support a statue of Perry Hannah in Hannah Park.
