Library hosts Craft Month

KALKASKA — Craft Month at the Kalkaska County Library continues through April 2.

Classes are $10 each, which includes materials, and are limited to the first 10 paid registrations. Classes include: Hand Applique with Jan Parker, 6-8 p.m. March 6; Beaded Necklace with Beverly Fields, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. March 8; Basket Weaving with Marilyn Coville, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. March 15; Stone Decor (choice of a birdhouse, a beach foot or a mirror), 6-8 p.m. March 20; Beer Brewing & Beer Bottling with Ben Birgy, two-session class meets 11 a.m.-1 p.m. March 22 and 6-8 p.m. April 2; and The Art of Making Biscotti, 6-8 p.m. March 27.

‘Off the Wall’ movie screening is set

ALDEN — “Beasts of the Southern Wild” will be shown at the next “Off the Wall” Movie Night at the Helena Township Community Center.

A potluck dinner at 6 p.m. will be followed by the film at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, at the community center, 8751 Helena Road. Those coming for dinner are asked to sign up to bring a dish to pass or consider a donation.

Artist reception is set for Thursday

TRAVERSE CITY — An exhibit of art by Christine Krzyszton will open with a reception on Thursday, March 6.

Krzyszton is a native of northern Michigan and studied at the New School at Parsons School of Art and Design in New York. She uses primary colors to elicit the feelings of inner childhood.

The reception from 6-8 p.m. will be hosted in Rinaldo Hall, adjacent to Gallery Fifty. “Over the Rainbow: Work by Christine Krzyszton” will be on display at Gallery Fifty through April. Call 932-0775 or visit www.galleryfifty.com for more information.
