Zander Lewis Lhamon was born Feb. 13, 2008. He loved bananas and Sid the Science Kid. He could hit and catch a ball and enjoyed being outside. Zander was 19 months old when his life was cut short, but he touched so many lives in the short time he was here.
On Sept. 14, his mom, Nadea Lhamon, went to get Zander up from his crib and faced a parent's worst nightmare when she found that he had quietly passed away.
"I used to tell each of our four children, when you make it to heaven run to God and don't look back," Nadea wrote. "I just didn't think it was going to be so soon."
Nadea went on to thank everyone for their support, prayers and gifts, with special thanks to the family's "awesome" church, Buckley Tabernacle.
"We can't begin to tell you how much you've meant to us," Nadea wrote. "Whether it was flowers, monetary gifts, food, acts of kindness, cards or kind words, thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

Barb Russell, a board member with Tri-County Coalition for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, wrote on behalf of the coalition to thank all the wonderful people who helped make its first "Cycle for Solutions" Family Fun Bike Ride a success.
The event was held to benefit the coalition's primary project, the establishment of a Children's Advocacy Center to benefit the needs of abused children in Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Leelanau counties.
"A big 'shout out' to Skilled Manufacturing employees who not only donated $1,000 to be the presenting sponsors (for the event), but also volunteered their time as well to be 'road marshals,'" Barb wrote. "We would also like to thank both Brick Wheels and ProFile for being activities' sponsors. A huge thank-you to Carol South for her excellent article in the Record-Eagle covering the intent of our fund raising. Thanks to all who participated and donated time and funds to our efforts. For a further list of donors, please see our Web site, www.tccpcan.com."
