Toni and Larry Way of Rapid City would like to thank the person who returned Larry's wallet at the Village Market.
The couple stopped at the market on Aug. 6 about 7 p.m. after going swimming. Larry, who is disabled and uses a scooter, paid for the groceries, but left his wallet in the scooter's basket and they didn't realize the wallet was missing until after the store was closed. After an anxious night, they called the market in the morning and were told that a customer had turned it in.
"We have no idea who it was, but we want to thank that person," Toni said.
She added that when they retrieved the wallet everything was there including a large sum of cash.
"My husband's whole life was in there," Toni said. "They don't realize what they did for us and it isn't just about the money."

Sheralyn Beattie of Traverse City wants to thank Ruth for stopping at the scene of a car accident early in June on Garfield Avenue.
Sheralyn didn't get her last name, but when she looked up, while sitting in her car with the air bags deployed and realizing that she was alive, Ruth was there to help her.
"She was comforting and reassuring as we awaited the arrival of emergency personnel," Sheralyn wrote. "She had witnessed the entire event and stayed to give her account of the accident to police. Thank you Ruth."
Sheralyn also would like to thank the lovely waitress from Agave Mexican Grill who brought her a welcome glass of ice water.
"Thank you so much. God bless you both," Sheralyn wrote.

Melissa Slepicka, community relations representative for Tendercare Inc., wrote to say that staff from all three Tendercare facilities helped at the Distinguished Senior Breakfast during the National Cherry Festival and "had a blast setting up, serving drinks and, most importantly, mingling with the fabulous group of seniors in attendance."
Kim Kloeckner, administrator of Tendercare Birchwood, noted that seniors deserve recognition as integral members of the community and that the breakfast celebrates just that. She also sends congratulations to Jim Rowlett, this year's recipient of the Distinguished Senior Award for his poverty reduction initiative.
