Michigan authorities looking for missing girl, 13

HAMILTON, Mich. (AP) — Michigan authorities are looking for a teenage girl they believe is with a California man she met on the Internet.

The Allegan County sheriff's office says the 13-year-old girl from Hamilton last was seen at 11 p.m. Monday.

According to the sheriff's office, the 34-year-old from San Jacinto, Calif., arrived in Michigan about two weeks ago and has been in contact with the girl.

The girl's mother found a letter left by the teen. In it, she says she wants to be with the man.

A sheriff's dog followed a track from the girl's bedroom window to a location across the street where it appears she may have gotten into a vehicle and left the area.

Hamilton is not far from Lake Michigan about 25 miles southwest of Grand Rapids.
