Man arrested in fatal stabbing at Paw Paw motel

PAW PAW — Police say they’ve arrested a suspect in the fatal stabbing of a 20-yearold man at a western Michigan motel.

Police in Paw Paw say the attack happened during a fight at Lakeside Inn late Tuesday.

Chief Eric Marshall said that officers got a call and found Trey D. Yarbrough of Kalamazoo bleeding from multiple stab wounds at a Marathon gas station nearby. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The village is about 55 miles southwest of Grand Rapids.

About 8 hours later, a state police team arrested a male acquaintance of Yarbrough in Battle Creek. He’s expected to face arraignment Thursday in Van Buren County District Court.

Marshall isn’t commenting on the cause of the fight.
