From upper 60s to blizzard, Michigan gets it all

PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) — Michigan is seeing it all, with temperatures nearing 70 in the south and a blizzard dumping about a foot of snow in the north, forcing a halt in bus service across the Upper Peninsula.

The National Weather Service predicts a 30-degree temperature drop in parts of lower Michigan, where Wednesday's highs reached 68 at Pontiac.

The weather service has issued flood warnings because of rains, and WOOD-TV says two men survived their car's plunge into a Muskegon County ditch after a road washout Wednesday.

WSGW-AM says Indian Trails canceled Upper Peninsula bus service Wednesday night, and Schoolcraft County got at least 11.4 inches of snow.

The Lake Michigan shoreline of the Lower Peninsula could see up to five inches of snow by Thursday.
