BATTLE CREEK,(AP) — A 33-year-old Michigan man is charged with making a false report or threat of terrorism after authorities say he threatened to contaminate the water supply and kill judges.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports that Chad Baase of Albion was arraigned Wednesday on the charge as well as a charge of using a computer to commit a crime. He was ordered held on $50,000 bond ahead of a hearing next week.
Baase was arrested Tuesday afternoon by Calhoun County sheriff’s department deputies after a message was posted on Facebook.
Lt. Aaron Wiersma says Baase told deputies he was angry about a child custody case and didn’t intend to follow through with the threats.
