Garden planned for brothers found dead in pond

LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — A memorial garden is being planned for two brothers, ages 7 and 9, who apparently drowned accidentally in a recently dug pond on their family farm in West Michigan.

Leander Troyer and his older brother, Jethro, were found Aug. 1 in the spring-fed pond beside a house in Lake Township. Authorities have said one brother likely fell in and the other went in after him.

The Ludington Daily News reported Monday about plans for the memorial garden. A Facebook page also has been set up.

The boys didn't come home on time, so their parents went looking for them and found them on the farm, about 70 miles northeast of Grand Rapids.
