MACKINAC ISLAND (AP) —
Detroit Tigers fans are expressing outrage over an umpire's blown call that cost pitcher Armando Galarraga a perfect game, and Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm is no exception.
The governor sent out a tweet just after the Wednesday night game saying that, as governor, she was issuing a proclamation "declaring Galarraga pitched a perfect game."
She made similar comments Thursday morning on Mackinac Island during an interview with WJR radio, noting that Galarraga "was robbed."
First base umpire Jim Joyce apologized to the pitcher after the game, saying he didn't realize until he saw a replay that Cleveland's Jason Donald didn't beat a throw to first base.
