KINGSLEY — Traverse City St. Francis won the Kingsley Invitational, with Holly Bullough posting a course record Thursday as the Gladiators claimed the 11-team cross-country event.
The hosts won the boys portion of the race.
Bullough won the girls race in 18:59.8.
The Glads posted 51 points to win by 15 over runner-up Bellaire. They were followed by Glen Lake (104), Manton (110) and Frankfort (112).
Erin McDonnell was seventh in 22:31 to lead seven St. Francis runners in the top 22 finishers. She was joined by teammates Emily Gallagher (eighth, 22:45), Blair Dzierwa (15th, 23:41), Grace Jones (20th, 24:01), Annie Lyman (21st, 24:02) and Suzanne Britten (22nd, 24:02).
The Gladiators — who claimed their second invitational win of the season — will try for their third in Saturday's Petoskey Invitational. Thursday's race in hot conditions also marked the first time this season the Glads had all of their top seven runners in the same event.
For Kingsley, Josie Durecki was 16th, Nicole Brown 17th and Courtney Adams 19th.
For the boys race, Kingsley's Jake Keena was the overall winner with a time of 17:40.
The Stags boys won the meet with 52 points and Manton was second with 63. Also for Kingsley, Richard Durecki was sixth in 19:13, Dylan Zenner seventh in 19:26, Konrad Stein 18th, Garth Bogart 20th, Tyrus Zenner 21st and Josh Blasko 26th.
TC West fourth at St. Johns
Playing with only two varsity players, Traverse City West took fourth in the 12-team St. Johns Redwing Invitational.
The Titans took a team of two regular varsity athletes and three from junior varsity to the event.
Midland Dow won the tournament with a 359, followed by DeWitt (403), Coldwater (407) and West (409).
West's Taylor Kehoe won the event with an 82, while Hunter Kehoe shot 92. The Titans' other scores were Katie Cairns (117), Morgan Harris (118) and Nikki Sanford (126).
West will play in today's 16-team Traverse City Invitational at the Traverse City Country Club.
