CADILLAC — Traverse City West had eight players with scores in the 70s as the Titans recorded a stellar performance to win the Big North Conference meet at Cadillac on Monday.
West had a team score of 304, led by medalist Cameron Murray’s round of 74. Brady Greenman came in with a 76 and was followed by a pair of 77s from Payden Myers and Alex Scott.
Beyond West’s varsity, the Titans’ junior varsity team also dominated. West’s JV team score of 326 would’ve put it fourth among varsity teams. Jacob Martin was the JV medalist with a 77, followed by runner-up Zach Perrin with a 78, Matt Orwig with an 84 and Ryan Sievers with an 87.
The entire outing was among the best head coach Mike Schultz had seen from his program in the five years he’s been at the school.
“It was nice to see the boys get some good scores on the board,” he said.
TC Central struggled and finished fifth with a score of 330.
Winton Munch tied for sixth with a 78. He was followed by Derek Schrank with an 83, Riley Boyd with an 84 and Trey Pezzetti with an 85.
The Trojans’ Black team was fourth in the JV portion of the meet with a 396.
Central’s scores included Zach Egbert with a 94, Matt Wooten a 98, Jack Hawley shot 101 and Jordan Bultsma carded a 103.

Paul Soma threw five innings of no-hit ball while striking out six as TC West posted a 12-2 baseball victory in the first game of a doubleheader on Monday.
Will Reed collected three doubles among four hits and drove in two runs to lead the Titans offensively. Trent MacDougall added two doubles and two RBIs, Collin Bush had a home run among two hits, Geordan Carter had two hits and Walt Borkovich slugged a two-run homer.
