Traverse City West wrestler Vincent Priante went 3-0 at 103 pounds to take first and broke the school record for career technical falls with his 22nd along the way at Saturday’s Sparta Invitational.
The Titans also had four other placers at the meet. James Peck went 2-1 at 215 pounds to take third, Corey Johanssen went 2-2 to take fourth at 112, Tanner Yanski was 2-1 at 171 to place fifth and Jonah Jasmin went 2-2 at 125 to place sixth.
West hosts its final Big North matches of the season on Wednesday when Petoskey and Alpena travel to Traverse City.
Elliott gets 100th career pin
Matthew Elliott, Landon Elliott, Tyler Leffingwell and Brandon Ames all went 5-0 for the Forest Area wrestling team at the Mancelona Invitational.
Matthew Elliott, wrestling at 135 pounds, recorded his 100th career pin on the day. Landon Elliott was wrestling at 119 pounds Leffingwell was at 130 pounds and Ames was at 171 pounds. Other competitors for the Warriors were Chris Schelske, who went 3-2 at 160 pounds, and Reese Velfling, who went 2-3 at 285.

Macomb Dakota 2
Traverse City Central went 4-for-7 on the power play, scoring all three goals in the second period with the extra skater as the Trojans topped Macomb Dakota 6-2 at the North vs. South Showcase.
Rhys Adle had two power play goals on the day, the second tying the game 2-2 in the second period. Parker Hebden and Alex Oliver, who scored twice and had an assist, followed with power play goals in the second, putting the Trojans ahead 4-2. Cam Givens had the other Central goal and also had an assist. Hebden contributed four assists, Derek Schrank chipped in with three assists.
Jack Boyce made 21 saves in goal for the Trojans (8-6-1), who travel to Petoskey on Wednesday.
Utica Eisenhower 5
Bay Reps 1
Utica Eisenhower scored four goals in the first period and cruised to a 5-1 victory over the Bay Reps in the North vs. South Showcase at Centre ICE.
The teams traded goals in the third, with Andrew Dzierwa netting the Reps goal, with an assist to Chase Joppich.
Jay Jones made 25 saves for the Reps (4-12), who are at Cheboygan on Wednesday.
Manistee held Gladwin to single-digit scoring in three of four quarters as the Chippewas defeated Gladwin 49-28.
Emily Kott had 12 points, six rebounds and seven assists for Manistee (8-0), which led 14-11 after one quarter, but limited Gladwin to eight points of less in the other three periods.
Annie Fuller added 11 points, Emma Burns grabbed a team-best seven boards and Olivia Vandeboncouer had four steals. Skyler Howard had nine points to lead Gladwin.
The Chippewas are at Traverse City West on Monday.
