Krejcik blanks Irish again

TRAVERSE CITY — Perfect weekend for Traverse City Hounds goalie David Krejcik.

Krejcik stopped 32 shots Saturday night as the Hounds beat the Detroit Fighting Irish 5-0 at Centre ICE. It was the second straight night Krejcik blanked the Fighting Irish.

Jordan Ruterbusch, Jacob Gillis, Dalton Gertsen and Patrick Rogowski all had a goal and an assist for the Hounds. Cory Bussingalso scored.

The Hounds (14-2-0-2) are now off until Thanksgiving Eve when they host the Soo Firehawks. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

Sign-up party set for Farmland 5K

TRAVERSE CITY — A sign-up party for the Farmland 5K European Style Cross Country Challenge will be held Nov. 30 at Cherry Republic in downtown Traverse City.

The race will be held Dec. 7 on a dedicated cross country course.

The party will be from 3-7 p.m. Those registering can receive a 15 percent discount off their race entry fee.

The fee, without the discount, is $35 through Nov. 24. It increases $5 after that. Family rates are available.

Turkey Trot slated for Petoskey

PETOSKEY — An inaugural Petoskey Turkey Trot for Charities 5K run/walk race will start and finish downtown at Pennsylvania Park Thanksgiving morning.

The race starts at 9 a.m.

All event proceeds will be donated to the Petoskey Bands.
