BAIN — McMeredith Hamlet hit a fade-away baseline jumper to force overtime and then scored four of the Ramblers' five points in the extra session as McBain topped Manistee 55-50 Monday.
The Ramblers held the Chippewas scoreless in overtime, while Hamlet had four and Katelyn Loeks one.
Madison Barnette hit a big 3-pointer to knot up the game 48-48 with a minute to go. Manistee then made a pair of free throws before Hamlet's jumper with 38 ticks left.
Hamlet finished the game with 25 points, 13 rebounds and five assists, while Barnette scored 12 points, Loeks grabbed 11 rebounds and T.K. Overmyer had six points and six rebounds.
Five of Loeks' rebounds came in the final minute of regulation and overtime.
Emilee Kott led Manistee with 19 points, while Emily Thompson added nine.
McBain (2-2) travels to Detroit Country Day on Dec. 27 to play Romulus at 2:20 p.m.
Petoskey 54 Kingsley 38
Megan Tompkins set a school record for blocks in Petoskey's 54-38 win over Kingsley.
Tompkins had 15 points, eight rebounds, six assists and eight blocks, which broke the previous record she shared at seven.
The Northmen (4-2) also had 18 points and 11 rebounds from Kelsey Ance.
Kenzie Meeker had 12 points for Kingsley while Autumn Goggin had 10 points.
Petoskey hosts TC Central on Thursday.

Four players scored in double-digits for Leland in a 57-52 win over Lake Leelanau St. Mary's.
The Comets (2-4) had 14 points from Caitlin McKee while Libby Munoz had 12 points. Whitney Schaub had 11 points and Maddie Trumbull had 10 points and nine rebounds.
Rachael Thon had 23 points for the Eagles while Megan Popp had 15 points.
Ellsworth 56 Harbor Light 49
Ellsworth moved to 3-0 in the Northern Lakes Conference with a 56-49 win over Harbor Light.
The Lancers (3-2) had 19 points from Kari Steenwyk while Tara Essenberg had 14 points, Kendra Warner scored 11 points and Crissa Karavas had 10 points.
