Traverse City Record-Eagle
— LELAND — Down 4-0 at half, Leland battled back to post a 6-4 soccer win over Kingsley on Wednesday.
Libby Munoz and Lydia Gulow each scored three goals for the Comets (14-4). Gulow’s second goal tied the contest at 4-4 with 14 minutes to go. Munoz then scored the game-winner with Gulow adding an insurance tally.
Miranda Harris and Whitney Schaub registered assists for the Comets. Noah Yaakoby had 13 saves.
Autumn Goggin picked up two goals and an assist for Kingsley (3-4-2). Ally Kintner and Maggie Gaca also scored. Lexi Keena added an assist. Kingsley faces the Traverse City Central JV on Friday. Leland travels to Benzie Central on Friday.
TC Liberty 3
Glen Lake 2
Molly Siler and Annie Lyman scored in the first half and Rikke Foss added a goal in the second half as TC Liberty downed Glen Lake 3-2.
Suzanne Britten had an assist on Siler’s goal and Brin Forlenza assisted on the goal by Foss, an exchange student from Norway.
Clare Slack and Alex LaCross had the goals for Glen Lake.
Logen Poniatoski made seven saves in net for the Liberty (5-6), who play a tripleheader of games on Saturday at the Coast Guard Fields in Traverse City. The Liberty meet Grayling at 10 a.m., Kalkaska at 11:30 a.m. and Boyne City at 1 p.m.
Suttons Bay wins Northwest Jamboree
All four Suttons Bay golfers came in with scores under 80 as the Norsemen won the Northwest Conference Jamboree at Champion Hill.
Sean Lammy carded a 74 to lead the Suttons Bay effort. Devin Capron followed with a 77, Eric Chapman had a 78 and Brent Duddles had a 79.
The Norsemen had a team score of 308 to cruise past the competition. Leland was second with a 340 and Glen Lake had a 360. Mesick (382), Benzie Central (382), Frankfort (388) and Kingsley (423) rounded out the field.
Leland’s Joel Sneed and Glen Lake’s Mike O’Brien tied for medalist honors with 71s. Benzie’s Paul Dumas led the Huskies’ showing with a 76. Mesick’s Alex Marshall fired an 81, Frankfort’s Tristan Rogers an 88 and Kingsley’s Steven Johnson a 91.

Manton 5 3
Travis Moore ripped three doubles, driving in three runs, to spark Glen Lake to a 9-5 non-league win over Manton in the opener of a doubleheader.
Tristan Williams also knocked in three runs for the Lakers (17-3). Trevor Apsey added two hits and two RBIs. Riley Scanlon pitched a five-hitter for the win.
Glen Lake completed the sweep by winning the nightcap 12-3. Thomas Waning had the hot bat with four hits, including a solo home run. Moore and Curtis Bunek contributed two hits. Moore earned the win.
Glen Lake faces Onekama on Friday at Wuerfel Park.

Mesick 0 3
TC Central took two from Mesick in a softball doubleheader, 2-0 and 5-3.
Maddy Duensing was the winning pitcher in the first game, striking out four. She also scored a run. Jessica Budz had a triple among her two hits and Miranda Winowiecki had two hits and an RBI. Chrissy Spoor and Sierra Bates had two hits each for Mesick.
Brenna Argue struck out three to get the win in the second game. Ryan Schiller, who got the save, struck out four.
Tiffany Taylor, Dana Dyer, Budz and Duensing had hits for Central (5-9). Taylor had an RBI and Duensing scored two runs. Rachel Robinson had an RBI double and Spoor a two-run double for the Bulldogs, who host a tournament on Saturday.
Manton 13 14
Glen Lake 9 4
Manton was a tough host for Glen Lake as the Rangers swept two softball games from the Lakers, 13-9 and 14-4.
Hannah Schweikert led Glen Lake (11-11) with three hits in game one. Kari Pleva and Taylor Galla had two hits each, with Galla driving in three runs. Kara Wright and Chloe Ellis each scored two runs.
In game two Skyler Gleason, Madison Hill and Pleva each had two hits.
The Lakers play Troy at TC West on Friday.

Charlevoix varsity 4
The TC Central JV Gold girls tennis team won three of four doubles matches in tying a match, 4-4, against Charlevoix’s varsity.
Doubles winners for the Trojans were: Caroline Gardner and Kayla Hilner, 6-1, 2-6, 12-10, at No. 1; Taylor Robbins and Melissa Lance, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 3; and Ashley Hulet and Carly Hernden, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 4.
No. 4 Jane Leahy was the Trojans’ singles winner, 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.
