— ROCHESTER HILLS — Hannah Nostrant had four hits — including the freshman’s first career varsity home run — to help Frankfort win the Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest Tournament on Saturday.

Nostrant belted a solo shot in the Panthers’ 13-1 first-round victory over Ann Arbor Greenhills. She had two hits in the game in which Frankfort cranked out a season-high 20 hits.

Aleah Hunt was the winning pitcher, striking out seven in seven innings. Courtney Bower had four hits, including a pair of doubles, while Sophie Nye had a double and triple among her three hits and Anna Hunt reached base safely three times.

The Panthers defeated host Lutheran Northwest 14-8 in the title game, as Sophie Nye blasted a two-run homer in the second inning. She had two hits.

Anna Hunt added three more hits and Aleah Hunt was the winning pitcher.

Keelan Kelly tripled among her three hits and MacKenna Kelly had a double and two hits. Nostrandt doubled, had two hits and threw out two runners from the outfield to bring her total to three for the day.

Frankfort (12-9, 7-1 Northwest Conference) returns to league play Tuesday, hosting Glen Lake.


Suttons Bay 7th at Harbor Springs

Led by Eric Chapman’s 81, Suttons Bay placed seventh in the Harbor Springs Invitational on Saturday.

The Norsemen shot a team score of 338.

Other top scores were Brent Duddles (83), Sean Lammy (86) and Lars Thornton and Devin Capron with 88s.
